Restore is dead simple with Hyper-V 2012

On Hyper-V 2012 restoring a HVBackup zip file is as simple as this:
  1. Unzip your HVBackup zip file to any folder.
  2. In the Hyper-V import wizard just point to the folder where the unzipped vm configuration files are (or one of it's parent folders). Leave all other wizard settings at default.
That's it. Works on a different Hyper-V host as it does on the original one. This means if you already upgraded to Server 2012 you don't care if HVBackup will have a restore option some day.

The technical reason for this improved behavior is that Server 2012 doesn't need an export file to import a virtual machine.
